How the sport developed

The sport developed on the Cresta Run and later joined international bobsleigh governance. The first cited contest ran between St. Moritz and Celerina in the 1880s. Later governance joined skeleton to the bobsleigh family while preserving its exposed head-first posture and minimalist sled.
